Production Process of the Carbide Valve Seat

Cemented carbide valve seat is a high-performance valve seal, made of cemented carbide material. It has the advantages of high hardness, high abrasion resistance, high corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, etc. It can adapt to the harsh working environment, such as high temperature, high pressure, high speed, strong corrosive media and other harsh working environment.

Cemented carbide valve seat belongs to the terminal control element, determines whether the process control is timely and effective, in the whole control circuit is more important but also for a long time the technology is relatively weak link.

Production process:

Cemented carbide valve seat production process

Material Preparation: Choose suitable cemented carbide material, usually cobalt-based, nickel-based and other alloys. Cut the selected material into blocks of appropriate size.

Powder metallurgy preparation: Mix the cemented carbide material powder with a small amount of binding agent so that the powder can maintain its shape during the subsequent molding process. The mixture is heated so that the binding agent melts and coats the surface of the powder particles, forming a wetting layer that wets the powder.

The wetted powder is placed into a mold and cold pressed under pressure to form the initial seat shape.

Heat Treatment: The cold-pressed seat is heat treated to remove internal stresses and increase the hardness and strength of the material.

Precision molding: The heat-treated seat is precision molded, usually using CNC machine tools, grinders, and other equipment to ensure the exact size and surface quality of the seat.

Cutting and machining: The valve seat is cut, drilled, turned, etc. as necessary to form the proper shape and connection features in the valve assembly.

Coating: The surface of the valve seat is coated as necessary to provide additional wear and corrosion resistance. Common coatings include carbide coatings, ceramic coatings, etc.

Assembly: Assemble the seat with other valve components, which may require welding, threaded connections, etc.

Quality inspection: quality inspection of the final finished valve seat, including size, appearance, coating quality and other aspects of the inspection.

Packing and leaving the factory: Qualified valve seats are packaged to ensure that they are not damaged during transportation and storage. Final inspection is again carried out before leaving the factory to ensure that the product quality meets the requirements.
