What Types of Coatings are Available for HSS Saw Blades?
Currently, there are four common coatings on HSS saw blades: heptakote, oxide, titanium and rose gold. These four coatings, there will also be performance differences.
1, seven-colour coating seven-colour coating is one of the common coatings in the HSS saw blade, its scientific name is surface chromium nitride alloy coating. This kind of coating in the light, often give people a sense of light dispersion after the seven colours and named. HSS saw blades with this coating are characterised by low sawing resistance and high wear resistance compared to ordinary HSS saw blades. From the point of view of use, HSS saw blades with a seven-colour coating are commonly used for cutting, undercutting and milling of stainless steel pipes, bars and other metal materials. After the material is cut off, it has the characteristics of less burr in the section and good toughness of the saw blade.
3, titanium gold coating with titanium gold coating of high-speed steel saw blade, its appearance gives the impression that this saw blade gold shiny. Its surface is obtained after a special PVD coating treatment, which causes the saw blade to appear golden. From the data, after the titanium coating treatment of high-speed steel saw blade, its own hardness reached 2300HV, at present, this titanium coating of high-speed steel saw blade is commonly used in automatic metal circular sawing machine sawing seamless steel tubes, bars and other metal materials. This not only effectively reduces the cost of sawing, but also ensures the cutting effect.
4, rose gold coating, also using PVD coating technology processing out of the coating. HSS saw blades with this coating are particularly suitable for use at high cutting speeds and high feed rates. They are generally used for the fine machining of metal materials. Compared to other types of coated HSS saw blades, HSS saw blades with this coating reduce the probability of chips sticking to the saw blade. The hardness of the surface ensures stability during the sawing process. HSS saw blades with rose gold coating are generally used for sawing copper alloys, titanium alloys and other materials
