Types and Applications of Milling Cutter

Milling cutters, as an important tool in metal cutting and processing, can be categorized into various types depending on their design and use. Kingchip shares several common types of milling cutters and their application details in different industries.

1. End milling cutter

Characteristics and structure: the cutting edge of end milling cutter is distributed in the circumference and ends of the tool, usually with two edges, four edges or even more edges of the design. Multi-flute design can improve cutting efficiency and workpiece surface quality.

Applications:

Precision parts machining: In the automobile manufacturing industry, end milling cutters are used for machining engine blocks, gearbox housings and other complex parts that require high precision.
